Anything Chess — Sign in, link accounts, and manage your data

Signing In

Anything Chess supports two sign-in methods. You can play without signing in, but creating an account lets you sync your progress across devices and platforms.

• Discord: Sign in using your Discord account. Only your Discord user ID and display name are used. No server list, email, or messages are accessed.
• Google: Sign in using your Google account. Your Google ID and display name are used for authentication. Your email is used only for the sign-in process and is not stored on our servers.

Anonymous players are automatically assigned an identity based on a one-way hash of their IP address. Your actual IP is never stored.

Linking Accounts

You can link your Discord and Google accounts together so they share the same element collection, board layout, and game statistics. To link accounts:

• Sign in with one provider (e.g., Discord).
• Open the in-game settings menu.
• Tap "Link Account" and sign in with the other provider (e.g., Google).

Linking merges your element collections from both accounts. If both accounts had different elements, you keep everything from both. Linking cannot be undone automatically — contact us if you need to unlink accounts.

Your Data

When you play Anything Chess, the following data is stored on our servers:

• Element collection: Which elements you have discovered or unlocked.
• Board layout: Which elements are assigned to your chess pieces.
• Game settings: Audio volume preferences.
• Statistics: Number of games played (by mode), experience points, and unlock token balance.
• Nickname: Your chosen display name (if set).
• Discoveries: Your identity is recorded as the discoverer of any new element combinations you find.

Transferring Between Platforms

If you play Anything Chess on both the web and inside Discord, you can transfer your session between platforms:

• In the game, open Settings and look for the "Transfer to Web" or "Transfer to Discord" option.
• A temporary transfer code is generated (valid for 5 minutes).
• Open the game on the other platform — it will automatically detect the transfer code and restore your session.

For permanent cross-platform sync, sign in with the same account (Discord or Google) on both platforms instead of using transfer codes.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your saved game data from the in-game settings menu at any time. This removes your element collection, board layout, statistics, and nickname from our servers.

Element discoveries cannot be deleted, as they are part of the shared game world visible to all players. Discoverer attribution will persist even after account deletion.
